Palm Springs, California lies on the western

San Jacinto, site of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Geography gives Palm Springs its famed warm, dry climate. Known for 354 days of sunshine and less than 5.2 inches of rain, winter temperatures average in the 70s with nights in the mid-40s. The dry desert heat of summer pushes daytime temperatures into the 100s enjoyed by sun lovers.
Excellent weather beckons the outdoors enthusiast. Primary Palm Springs pastimes include golf at over 100 courses in the Coachella Valley and tennis courts citywide.
Bike trails, such as Heritage Trail, are well marked throughout the Village and estate neighborhoods. Off-road biking is also available. Hiking trails abound in nearby wilderness areas, California State Parks and Joshua Tree National Park just to the east. Guided tours are offered. Horseback riding and eco-jeep trips offer seated exploration.
Spectator sports such as polo, Tennis Masters Series and golf tournaments such as the Bob Hope Classic and Nabisco Championship are enjoyed seasonally.
